An archos PMP with a dock might be a good choice in this case

The PMP look like nice players but will I be Paying extra for video and other capabilities I don't need.
The 504 is 179.99 on Amazon Does that sound like value?

Certainly, but that's an old model...hitting 2 years old I think, just something to take note of....Also, Archos PMP's are notorious for their low volume output from the headphone jack, which was why I suggested buy a dock too, as you would be able to use a line out from that dock.

Really, without going the PMP route there are only 2 DAP's that fit you capacity needs: The ZUne 120 and the ipod Classic, both of which require the use of software to transfer media.

Also, as this is a business expense would you not be able to get these things at a VAT reduced price?

Don't buy the one that Argos sell anyway, I cant think of the make of it but it affects the TV reception and also conked out after a few months. It's an 80 gig one.
The manufacturer is called 'Accoustic Solutions'.
