    Hi

I want to get a new lens for my Nikon D300
    Preferably a 24-70mm f/2.8
The Nikon one is €1499.00 and the Sigma one is only €599.00
    Whats the difference?

    Thanks

I had the Sigma 24-70 2.8 on my D3 and it was fine. Saying that it wasn't amazing. It suffered form glare (very badly with bright orange cirves in the corners of the frame) when light would come in at certain angles. I recently upgraded to the Nikon 24-70 2.8 but unfortunately I got a bad copy that seems to front focus badly and isn't sharp at all. It's under warranty so I have to send it off to get it looked at.
The Sigma is fine for the money but I was never really happy with it.

You can get the Nikon 24-70 in Calumet Belfast for under €1200.

It's a great lens, very fast and pin sharp. Tried the sigma and it appeared to be slow and on the D3 with some lack of sharpness when fully open.
