US plug - How to get working here?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to electronics and I'm likely to break this thing if I just "guess".

Basically... I bought a device from ebay.. it was already assembled from someone to connect my xbox to my electronic drumset... so I could use the drumset in the game. (saving me soldering n stuff)

Now... I thought it'd just be a cable thingy, but apparently it's got a plug on it aswell and I'm not sure how to get it working over here... I'm afraid of plugging it in and going BANG, so I'm hoping someone here can help...

    Basically... the device is THIS.
    On that document says...

    Maximum output voltage: 12VDC
    Minimum output voltage: 7.5VDC
Current capacity (no load on Regulated 5V Output): 110mA or greater
Current capacity (loaded Regulated 5V Output): Varies with 5V load current

but it's been soldered into a plastic box with power connection. There is a plug on it that says...

    Class 2 Transformer
    INPUT: 12V 60Hz 7W
    OUTPUT: 4.5VDC 700mA
    POLARITY:

Plug looks something like this... (exact same connections)

Thanks for anyone who can help...

Thanks... I'll be shopping in Wexford town tomorrow, so was hoping to have something on my list to buy that would work.... I wanted to start using it on sunday, but most important thing is that I don't break it.... and that I don't put it in a corner and forget about it (because I'm terrible for doing that).

I would have thought you'd be able to pick up a transformer here with the same out put, try pc or gaming store.

It's just a standard AC-DC adapter. Buy one of these in Argos or somewhere and set it to do 4.5V DC output using the selector switch. That one is rated 1200ma and you need 700ma so it's plenty big, if you're picking a different one just make sure its able to deliver the current you need.

Can you plug out the other end of the power lead from the device so that you can just plug the new one straight in? If you can the new one will come with a range of plugs like this, you just have to pick the one closest what you already have and connect it so that it is centre pin positive like the old one.

Thanks pauln... I reckon that's perfect.... 4.5v output seems perfect for what I wanted... I knew such a thing existed, but I didn't know where to buy them.

    Thanks everyone for your help.
