Buying from Richer Sounds soon, which one should I be going for. I usually buy high end to futureproof but with the price of plasmas I don't want to overspec. I don't have a big setup here, crappy old 24" standard aspect Samsung, standard Sky+, no audio setup, cheap DVD player, but I will look at adding Sky HD not long after getting the plasma, and a nice audio setup and/or Bluray in the medium term. So which of the Pannys should I be going for?

    Thanks,
    adam

    You have 3 choices:
The PZ80: the standard FullHD model
The PZ85: their top spec'd model with better sounds & extra image processing
The PZ81: same spec as PZ85 but has Freesat HD & MPEG4 tuner.

IMO, go for the PZ81 if you can, its the most future proof model as it has FreesatHD (Free to Air satellite stations run by BBC, ITV) and MPEG4 tuner which can be used with the DTT roll-out in this country in 09-'10.

You could also go for the PZ800. I originally got the 37LZD800 but replaced it with the 42PZ800 due to backlight bleeding. I find the PZ800 an outstanding set, well worth the investment IMHO.

The 42px80/42pv80 might do the job too, maybe not if you watch a lot of bluray, though

What's the different between the PZ800 and the PZ81. I don't see any PZ800s on the Richer Sounds website.

I'll be getting Bluray in the medium term, as mentioned above.

Its on the uk website http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=PANA-TH42PZ800B.

They will order it in for you if you mention that you saw it on the UK website, You should also quote the price on the website.

What's the difference between that and the ones on the Irish site though? In price it seems to sit between the two PZ81s.

For that matter how do the PZ81s differ, is it just full HD capability?
