I'm playing the Monty in the morning, and was on the range today and hit the ball lovely... played great on Wednesday too... So, to summarise - I can't f*ckin wait!! :D

Played 18 of the coldest ever in Milicent with a few hardy souls. There was actually ICE on everyone of my clubs near the end of the round!

    Played very poor too :(

No enjoyment in trying to play golf in the cold.
As I have bad circulation I wont go out if its < 6 degrees.

Didn't bother moving the sticks today. Never got above 0c here in Kilkenny (according to the car). Hit -4 at about 10:30 as I drove to Carlow. Reckon most courses down this way will be closed 'till Tuesday at the earliest :( or at least they should be IMHO.

Day 29 of a self-imposed two month golf free spell... absolutely dying to hit a few balls!!!

Still, when it's as cold as it was today Soccer Saturday and central heating isn't all that bad at all.

Great to see it Graeme that you have taken the break.

Sometimes a break for a few weeks in mid summer can do wonders also.

Get the fitness going I hope.

I think people should take 2 weeks off around every 2 months. Builds up your hunger.

It will not do damage to your game

cheap and accessible enough that you should get around to playing it. I enjoyed it.

millicent is nice, still a bit plain as the beds in as it started out quite blank with little in the way of mature trees etc. However it's nice and long and there are a few challenging holes..

The course is settling in nicely, I think it's quite nice. There's a boring "up and down" stretch of three holes from 12-14 that lets it down though.

I wouldn't call it cheap mind you, for green fees - it was €50 yesterday which I thought was a bit steep for a barely playable course.

Our place was opened at 12.30 on Saturday which was very surprising with the way the forst was. Actually very playable too. We play 12-hole winter golf to both rest greens and decrease the slog for ourselves on bad weather days. Obviously there was no competition but we played skins between ourselves. Shot +5 for the 12 with a silly ball OB on 17.

Birdied 15 (for Obni's benefit) it was Driver to the edge of the first ditch, 3 wood at the green came up 20 yards short and a LW and putt ;)
