Does anyone know any sites that would give details on either of these subjects?

I can only find details on the history behind the songs themselves.

    Cheers.

The site is about the book which would give you all you need to know I'm sure.

Don't know about sites but there's a pretty comprehensive book called , unsurprisingly, Recording The Beatles .

I'm hoping Santa will have one for me ...

Don't worry Paul, I'm well used to you hijacking my threads.

I would love the book, but can't afford it right now (plus assignment is due Monday).

I found this plug in type thing on my searching which looks quite good too.

Luckily the review of it describes all the equipment it emulates too.

    Thanks for the replies anyway.

Anything specific? I have another book here I could check stuff - The Anthology, basically what they did every day they were Beatles.

    Nah, it's cool. Cheers.

Bit of a Beatles-phile myself. Loads of books, I had an assignment to cover the history behind the recording of an album (I chose the White album) and to say what equipment was used in the recording. I think I've got all I need now.

Dave Harries, who worked on that and other Beatles stuff now runs Mark Knopfler's British Grove Studio.

We met him there last year. Buzzin' like an 18 year old, he is - Class!

When doing a google search put "quotations" around the phrase to get more accurate hits. A google search of:
    equipment "the white album"
turned up these and many more.

The 2nd and 3rd page i'd come across but 1 and 4 look quite interesting.

    Cheers.

Have you's nothing better to be doing on a friday night? :)

I had started drinking when "researching" the stuff, but as of now am a bit unable to continue, it's 10 minutes work, 50 minutes play guitar/solitaire/ watch a bit of scrubs(which i hate but it's the only thing ever on) repeat ad naseum (((word of the day toilet paper)toilet humour.)stupid humour when drunkish)

In doing the research, theres a two camps. Those that say it's a crap album after what's gone before and that say it's fantastic.I think it';s a great album, with a few **** songs, buit rather then a group pushing the boundaries i see it as a group of accomplished musicxians having fun with different styles of music and the pleasure is in seeing them do just that.

One thing struck me on that documentary - the fact that George Martin wasn't there all the time.

So you had your Bungalow Bill doing things in the Road (where I'd guess he wasn't there) and Oh Bla Di Oh Bla Da, which is probably the most 'produced' track, perhaps indicating he was ...

I remember hearing that on the radio at the time and thinking ' What a strange song' .... little did I know what else was on the album!
