Just wanted to post my thanks for the boards sale and getting my own equipment. A small problem with the speakers was resolved in a day by John and Ferg who collected the broken set and delivered the brand new set the following evening.

It's rare to get a company which consistently has the best prices around and it's even rarer to get a company with genuinely good customer service. It's bloody unheard of to have a company with both those qualities which is why all my av business (and that of anyone I know!) will be going to Richer Sounds. Nice going guys :)

Again - super thanks to John McD (the MD, no less) who personally delivered a yamaha amp to me in nth co. Dublin (last Sunday!). This kind of service would be unheard of in 99% of businesses.
Will be buying more equipment from RS in the not to distant - that's for sure.

    Thx

Have to ad my name to this list and say well done, got a Z81 panasonic and such a brilliant tv, service was excellent, discussed queries with me and made sure i was happy with my purchase, most importantly was knowledgeable and pleasant, even made sure i knew tv only tuned uhf etc. Would recommend them to anyone, totally deserve the business!

Have to echo the above posts...

Had a visit from John Mc on Sunday with a solution to a problem i was having even when service agent/manufacturer were fobbing me off.

I think Richersounds have a number of customers for life judging from this thread. ;)

Add me to that growing list. Got my brand spanking new 876 Amp and monitor audio bronze speakers delivered last thursday..........also bought a matrantz cd player which is the dogs. The level of customer service from the lads in RS just cannot be beaten. The deal I got from John on the gear is staggering.......
I will be buying from RS again for sure and recommending to anyone looking for AV gear that they are the people to call.

    Thanks a million again john.

I'm always willing to chip into a thread to praise RS; I'm angling for discount on my next purchase :D

And I do mean my next purchase from RS, because its only a matter of time. They are always great to deal with & like others on here, when the occasional issue occurs JohnMcD made a point of jumping in himself to assist.

There aren't too many places out there that are recession proof in the current environment, but my money is always on RS to come out smelling of roses, just because of the outstanding people who work there & their great customer service !

Just got a great deal on an Onkyo receiver from the guys in Richersounds. Have to say the customer service from John and the guys is second to none. Looking forward to delivery :)

Was in the shop today and despite being busy, and I hadn't forewarned him, John Mc was extremely helpful and did me a very good deal. Plus the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful, truly a rare thing these days (in the Republic, anyway). Looking forward to delivery and thanks again, John.

I also would like to thank John for a fantastic service. I started a thread only a few days ago looking for a new avr and I already have it set up thanks to the dedication and utter professionalism of this man. Again many thanks John.

I received a Panasonic 37PX80 yesterday, and am absolutely delighted with it. John was fantastic to deal with - couldn't recommend richer sounds belfast enough!

I take my hat off to john at R.S. He has been a great help. I will be ordering my pioneer 500a straight after xmas. Unfortunately there is a wait time. But never the less couldnt ask for a better service. If only all retailers were like him.:)

Hi, another glowing recommendation from me also. I meant to post sooner but I have been engrossed with my new Pioneer KRP-500A.

Dealing with John was a pleasure, my set arrived a few days after ordering, really quick turnaround, a small problem with the bracket I ordered was sorted by John in an instant. Top class by any standard.

Also the deal that I got was incredible, I reckon I saved a minimum of €1500 going on prices I got quoted by DID and Alliance.

Lads get your credit cards out, you won't be sorry. I for one will not be buying from anyone else in the future.

PS. This TV is truly amazing, HD is nothing short of breathtaking. Makes my Panasonic look like a childs toy.

Anyone have an opinion on the 500A versus the Panny 50PZ80 versus Sony 52W4500?

Is the 500A really worth the almost €1400 more then the Panny 50PZ80?

    Decisions, decisions.

BTW did anyone get the swivel stand for the 500A and is it ok?

    Hi,
You could also add the LX5090 to your list. Its a bit cheaper than the KRP-500A and the picture quality virtually the same.

The KRP-500A is Pioneers flagship model designed with the custom installer inmind and at just 64mm thick is made to be wall mounted. It comes with a separate media receiver with loads of connections and a HD satellite tuner, you can also stream media via your home network, has a fancy GUI, etc. The LX and the other TVs you mention are nice straight forward consumer TVs.
For me the KRP was worth it, I considered it an absolute bargain to be honest. I paid roughly the same for a Panasonic 37PV60 2 and a half years ago........!

    Good luck.

    i'll second that

ordered on the Thursday evening before christmas and recieved my 40" series 6 samsung on the monday morning. disgracefully good service too.

cost me €904 inc delivery and 5 year extended warranty, the same TV is in power city for €999 in the sales (with no warranty) and was 1299 before hand. If RS are beating the jan sales pre christmas you know theres value to be gotten

I'd like to add my thanks to John and Ursula - excellent service and great prices.

    Thanks again guys :)

Plasma purchased, round of applause for richer sounds yet again. I live in Meath, and I reckon I can get to Belfast and collect a tv quicker than I could have collected one from the old shop on the quays in Dublin.

Many thanks to john and the team at richer sounds. Sent an email on new years day of all times and had a reply from john within an hour.... must never take a holiday!! He reserved the AVR i was looking for at a fantastic price. Went up to belfast and matt looked after everything and gave some great advice and professional service. thanks to all the team there who seem to enjoy what they do and know how to look after their customers...rare these days.:D:p:D

I'm seriously impressed - placed an order with John on Friday afternoon and have just taken delivery of my new plasma.

This takes customer service to a new level.

Thanks again to John and all the team.

I have to add my praise for John & RS here also.
They genuinely care about their customers and will go to extreme lengths to guarantee satisfaction
I had a few delivery related issues before Christmas and John stepped in and dealt with the problem personally.

I must say again the commitment to customer satisfaction is outstanding.
Lots of companies can offer good prices but there willl be a trade off somewhere along the line. With Richer Sounds,Belfast, prices and customer service are both of equal importance.

Looking forward to my next purchase from John & Co.

    Pat

Just a belated thank you from me too. Bought a Panny and a samsung off Richersounds and though we had a little hiccup with delivery (my tv didn't leave the store with the ROI delivery van) the guys pulled out the stops and had it delivered the next day anyway.

    That's service. Thanks guys.

I bought a 37LG6000 from the Richer Sounds store in Belfast just before Christmas. One of the best prices around and the staff couldn't do enough for me.

Unfortunately, the TV has a sound fault (I'm thinking it's a software problem - TV doesn't like PCM audio over HDMI).

Anyway, after emailing sales@richersounds.ie, John replied to me personally and was quick to offer a refund or replacement model. He even offered for me to return the TV to The Philips Store in Dublin, to save driving all the way up to Belfast (I'm in Waterford). Talk about first class service!

John even called me today (a Saturday), to personally apologise for the inconvenience - even though the fault with the TV is neither his nor Richer Sound's fault.

First class service from John and the Richer Sounds Ireland team. www.richersounds.ie will be my first stop, next time I'm looking for anything AV. :)

Just wall mounted my new 32" ambilight from the sale last sunday and Im seriously impressed. An absolute bargain price coupled with first class, fast efficient service from Johnmc.
    Thanks a mil john.

Also got a cracking deal on a panasonic bd35 region free blu-ray from John at the same time.:)

I updated my own thread on my order, but seeing as this is becoming a de facto thread for posting reviews I'll add my 2cent.

Great service from Richersounds and the prices are even better. There was a delay on my order due to availablity, but once it came back in stock it was delivered by John personally a day later on a Saturday.

    I will use Richersounds again.

I'd better add in my high fives in here too :pac:

I received my new Pioneer VSX-1018 AVR from Richersounds on Friday, and there was a slight glitch with the delivery (the Amp was the wrong colour :p), but John was super quick to sort it out for me and the correct one arrived to my door first thing this morning. Now all I got to do is hook it up, it's an absolute beast of a machine!

Thanks to John for a super deal and an excellent service. I'll be back :D

    P.S.
@JohnMc - I dropped you an email there yesterday with a couple of minor technical questions, if you get a chance to have a look at it, it would be great!

I have to agree with one and all. I ordered an AV amp and speakers from RS on Saturday. They were delivered on Tuesday. Great service and great prices, things that were lost a long time ago South of the border!

All in, my order roughly cost me half what it would in the South.
I would certainly sing RS's praises to anyone I know interested in new Hi-Fi or AV kit!
