PR Job interview - when to call?

Hi all. My first bit of good news is that I secured a job interview with company last week, a very well known PR group with one of their directors. The interview was over a week ago and although he seemed happy enough with my past experience and abilities (I did drop two mild clangers) and I highlighted my extreme malleablity as regards numeration (mistake?).

At the interview he had told me he had to talk to another executive whom I would be working with to seal the deal and this gentleman was not available until the following Wednesday. It's now two days after that and I'm up the wall waiting to hear if I got it (dream job...).

It's been a couple of years since I last had to go through this type of dance and all the books I bought on the subject say it's a good idea to call as a way of demonstrating interest. As it happens I think I have that licked as I sent on an extensive apocryphal CV after the interview with further details of previous exploits and adventures. The only thing is now I am no longer a properly functioning human being and waiting to hear back about this is really a head wreck.

Should I call them today or sit tight? One way or another the interview at least gave me confidence that I am actually potentially employable at least and closure one way or another would be great.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Let's put it this way...

If they are offering you the job and just haven't got around to actually calling you, then calling them will show them that you really want the job. No loss there and you can enjoy your weekend knowing you got it!

If they are not offering you the job, then you calling them will confirm this and you can have a normal weekend without the added 'head wreck' effect.

    I'd call, fúck it!

Your on the ball. They weren't offering it to me just yet though as final confirmation was not forthcoming. If it were then I'd be writing about my crazy party last night in After Hours!

I'll fire off an email. Thanks mate.
