Lost passport

    My mate lost his passport in sydney the other day, i told him to contact the irish embassy over there. Anyone have any other advice? He's on a WHV and he doesnt have any photocopies of it.

    If he goes into the Irish embassy, after a bit of of form filling he'll be able to get a new one. Usually takes a few weeks. He would be best to contact Australian immigration re his new passport as his visa is tied up with the old passport number

    You can get a temporary year long Irish passport created in 48hrs.
    If he's after a proper one, then it can take up to 6 weeks.

    I just went through it all a few weeks ago.
