Online TEFL??

Hi, I was considering doing an online TEFL course such as the one offered by i-i. Does anybody know if these are accepted in European countries such as Italy or Spain? If so, is the 40 hour course enough? Any info that anybody can give me would be greatly appreciated as Im really confused by the amount of courses available…
