Photobox prints

    Hey,

    Anyone recently ordered through photobox?

I got a shipment today of some prints. They all seem a good bit darker than on my PC. Yes, my monitors are calibrated.

I might just have the exact same image printed through someone else (like Spectra) just to compare, but as far as I am concerned, the photobox print is much darker than it should.

Was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience recently.

I just got some prints from photobox the other day (had 50 free prints for recommending a friend) and i have to say that i thought they were pretty good. I wouldnt say that they were much darker than on the PC at all, although there IS usually some difference in prints. I went for matt finish on them, and i was happy.

i only used photobox once and i found the quality not great and as Paul said above they certainly were quite dark. Having said that i know a lot of people on here have used them and like kgiller have found them fine. I dunno what the difference is - perhaps just a glitch on a batch maybe?

ITs hits andmiss with onlin eprinting, I just got 34 or 35 8x12's from bonusprint today (only 99c per print so thoughtI'd give it a try) and on some prints there are random blobs of a green cast on parts of the images. Not happy but they were only test prints before I print them super big.

I've used Photobox many times before, and never had an issue. This was the first time that the images differ from what I have on screen.

Anyway, I'll put an order for the same print in with Spectra and see if it comes out the same or different.

    Thanks folks.

Have you ever tried http://int.pixum.com/ ? I got some prints from them before (12"X18") and they were superb quality. Cheap enough prices too.

the issue with any of the online type places is for them to make money they have to do such large volumes.

so they do there QC in a manner that means not every print is checked etc. this does mean some bad batched can slip through the net.
