All the time! And sometimes I've gone up with the same meal as a friend, and got charged different prices by the same person & we've been right after each other in the queue?!

They actually told you it was depending on time of day? That doesnt sound right at all.. The price advertised should be the price..

When did this happen? Who did you ask?

Depending on how much you eat/drink, over the course of a degree (and maybe further on from that), you could be talking a chunk of change going right into the college funds, for no reason.

If the bank took 5c from your account every single day for 4+ years, would you have the same attitude?

Just because it's an institute of education doesn't excuse it from getting basic business practise right.

In the mountjoy square canteen, a scone can cost you anywhere between 70 cents and 1 euro 20, depending on the time and staff there, it's a tad weird.

Thought there was free food cooked by all the trainees there?

Once I was charged 344.23 euros for a plate of chips with gravy on. I asked why the food was so dear and the cashier told me it was because Andre had served me my dinner. Apparently he has some sort of rare disease which causes the food he handles to taste better at different times of the day. The price varies accordingly.

    The chips were exquisite.

I had the exact same thing. I was charged 400.40 euros for chips, a sausage and rice. The said its because Andre's tooth fell in, and it was gold, and if we found it we would make 400,000 euros because its supergold and its the only one ever made intoa tooth sowe should be happy paying 400.40 euros but i said that it was a bit much and they were liek DUH! you'll be rich. I said they were all amd as hatters, crazy people and nutjobs but they kept going and going and going and going and then I was like here, stop, yous are crazy but they kept going and going and going and going and then I was like here, stop, yous are crazy but they kept going and going and going and going and then I was like here, stop, yous are crazy but they kept going and going and going and going and then I was like here, stop, yous are crazy but they kept going and going and going and going and then I was like here, stop, yous are crazy.

Maybe it's time to calculate our own prices?!

Campbell Catering, a private company, have the tender for the DIT canteens and restaurants.

There's two options regarding the ever-changing prices:

    1) Don't buy from Campbell Catering, or

    2) Send complaints, with examples, to campbell.catering@dit.ie
