Ok, so what do you reckon was the best match of 2008?

The criteria you base your vote on are your own, you can explain them if you want but it's not necessary for you to do so if you don't want to. If someone doesn't want to, that's their business, don't have a go. Keep it civil when discussing peoples choices too.

The voting system is simple. Vote for your top 3. First place gets 5 points, second place gets 3 points and 3rd place gets 1 point. At the end we tally the points and count a winner.

Purely because of what the match meant and how it told a story, I have to go with HBK v Flair, I'm a sentimental sap.:o

gimmick

Flair Vs HBK is going to win this by a country mile for obvious reasons.

1. HBK Vs Flair Wrestlemania

2. Brian Danielson Vs Tyler Black from ROH Breakout. A stunning too and fro match which elevated Black more that any other match I have sen him in.

3. AJ Styles Vs Kurt Angle last man standing. In a match I was surprised at the stip, it delivered in a bg way, and put AJ over to the nth degree.

Always much harder than the other ones

1. Flair vs. HBK
Obviously not the best match technically but I can honestly say that I have never been so emotionally involved in a match and it was the first time I've been to tears watching wrestling including the tribute shows. Perfect ending too

2.Angle vs. Joe at Lethal Lockdown.
First reason that this was the best TNA match of the year. Frank Trigg was added on commentary which meant less time for Don "Oh My God" West. Kind of like a more modern Angle vs. Benoit (the Mania one) where they started off with Angle's strong point, mat wrestling, and Benoit held his own but this time it was MMA. The beginning was average but after they dropped the MMA stuff it was awesome with some great submission spots and a good finish. Didn't like it at the time because Joe got the title but my anger has eased somewhat as I realised that as TNA is a joke their title is too

3. Edge vs. Taker

1. Kurt Angle vs. Abyss Falls Count Anywhere Turning Point: This was a brilliant exciting match, Abyss hadn't looked as good since 2007.

2. Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels Judgement Day

3. AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle Last Man Standing Hard Justice

1.Edge vs Taker at Mania 24
As much as I wanted Edge to end the streak it was never going to happen ,a barnstorming main event for the biggest ppv of the year

2.Flair vs HBK- I'm not ashamed to say I welled up like a girl when Flair bid goodbye to the crowd, and the fact Michaels pinned him,said his thanks and let Flair take the stage and the spotlight speaks volumes, that night one legend retired and another was born

3.Can I count the Royal Rumble match itself? if so that if not, HBK v Jericho Ladder

Edge vs taker HIAC
great match, many don't like the ending but meh the match was over and done then so who cares

HHH vs jeff
fluid match, best HHH singles match for a long time, jeff was superb that night and a few times we thought he was going over

Most enjoyable match of the year.

2.Flair vs HBK
Not the best match ever, but a fitting end for Flair.

3.HBK/Jericho ladder match
Bloody entertaining!

HBK v Flair - Most emotional match of the year by a long shot.
Edge v Taker - Mania - Awesome main event, both men delivered, shame about the result though!
Jeff v Umaga - Cage match Raw (best free match the WWE gave us all year)

gimmick

Got to say that I did not particularly enjoy the Undertaker Edge Mania match. It had an enjoyable last 6-7 minutes, but the starting 15-20 minutes were very boring.

Matter of opinion I guess.

The only match I can recall enjoying was the Royal Rumble. I think this has been a truly terrible year for wrestling in terms of matches. The worst in my time as a wrestling fan.

Match of the Year is undoubtedly

1.Kensuke Office Vs Burning from SEM in japan in August. Incredible 8 man elimination tag match.

2. KENTA Vs Marufuji 1 hour draw from last month. i've seen nothing but bitching about this match onnline. I thought it was fantastic.

3. Flair vs HBK fro mania wasn't the greatest workrate wise but as an awesome memorable spectacle it was brilliant
