ok so I know I am leaving myself open for ridicule here but I am desperate.

Has anyone ever, or even heard of anyone with a condition like this?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_sex

It happens to me, and despite my live-in girlfriend being a Saint about it, it is tearing our relationship apart.

    Could you elaborate?

Go to your doctor, none of us here are able to cure you.

Ride the box off your missus before you sleep,

Then you'll be too knackered to do anything while asleep!

This happened twice with my boyfriend a good few months ago. Both nights he was absolutely exhausted, could that be the issue here? In my case I didnt realise the first time that he was asleep as it was dark and the second time I slapped him away until he woke up. It did worry me a little bit but I knew it wasnt malicious. Maybe leave a glass of cold water beside the bed so she can throw it on you when you get a bit touch feely in the wee hours.

Best of Luck and thank your lucky stars your girlfriend is so understanding!

I saw something in tv listings about that disorder this week. Didn't watch it though. Perhaps you could find out about this documentary and get a copy.

Otherwise it's going to be on again in Jan

Yep I did hear about it. Seen a documentary on it before. I think it was on Channel 4. It was about a year ago and it followed a few people that had it. One guy was at a party...fell asleep and had sex with a girl. When he woke he was accused of rape and it went to trial...he eventually got acquitted but that was the extreme case in the documentary. I would get it seen to by a doctor as it is a legit condition so you should get advice on it! I think the documentary is repeated the odd time on the sky digi channels but I am not sure which one. Actually if you look at this link it will tell you it will be repeated again

garthv you should know better. Hardly helpful. Cop on and read the charter of this forum before you post again or you'll get a banning.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

It's a bizarre condition, a mate of mine does the same thing... I don't share a bed with him any more lol :D

Hey I'm the same, although I never have engaged in full sex while asleep - but I'd say over the last 6 months I've woke up a dozen times, with me trying to finger my gf. I stop as soon as I'm awake,, worrying though.

Got a similar issue, **** while asleep. First i know about it is when im told next day or whenever. Luckily it doesnt bother my partner she just wakes me up or lends a helping hand... Doesnt happen that often and normally when its hectic at work or other stressfull issues.

My bf does that sometimes. i really don't see it was a problem though, i love having sex as much as possible so if anything it's good. I don't see how too much sex, even when sleeping can possibly ruin your relationship with her.

This happens to me too. It started about three years ago, normally the first few hours into sleep. I have often actually woke up in the middle of a romp with the Mrs. very weird at the start but we laugh at it now. And we would be having breakfast in the morning and she would comment on the night before and I would have no recollection at all.

I don't know if this is connected to this or not but I sleep walk when I stay in anybody's house except my own, often found wandering around down stairs in the middle of the night.

I used to have disturbing thoughts because when our kids were younger they used to come into our bed in the middle of the night, I used to worry about my wandering hands when they were there but I think subconsioucly I knew what I was doing but I just didn't remember it's probably like being hypnotised.

Thanks for all your responses. Strangely reassuring to know I'm not totally alone. It's so strange to go into such a trance, totally separating your mind & body, to devestate the one you love and not remember a single thing about it.

I can totally empathise what the guy with the kids said. It'd be so strange not to be able to share a bed with your baby or whatever

Bloody hell, am I the only one this doesn't happen to? :D

Devastate the one you love? Are you saying you are having non-consensual sex with your live-in girlfriend while you're asleep and she's not? If you are, then this is rather more serious than some sleepy groping that she can laugh off.

it happens to my boyfriend-he feels awful about it. last time i said if it happens again im moving out!! its a lot to put up with i think its called sexsomnia im going to look it up on google. i know a young couple who sleep in separate rooms because he does odd things in his sleep. maybe thats a remedy? but ud miss the cuddles then! i really love my boyfriend n dont want to leave him- hes everything to me but it makes me feel awful when it happens, and he cant handle it either. good luck n if u find a remedy post it here for us!!

for people to understand; its like being raped for me as im asleep and dont get to consent- he is asleep so hes not doing it intentionally. i wouldnt like him to be judged for it as this behaviour is so opposite to the wonderful caring man he is when hes awake

Are you only telling us half the story here? Is this a situation where she can't wake you up or stop you?
