    Just a shot in the dark here..

    The 38% reduction more than likely indicates it's a 38% reduction from the RRP - not necessarily a previous price.

    This is not by any means sly... it's common practice to be honest (unless you're Aldi or Lidl).

    yah, its pretty common, even on groceries. once that €394 price is based on RRP and RRP is correct then they aren't breaking any rules.
