As the title says, I don't rally play these games at all, but I would like to pick up one to see what it's like!

Basically, I want a fun game with nice graphics and I was looking at Burnout Paradise and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift...probably leaning towards Motorstorm, any suggestions?

MotorStorm: PA is an absolute gem of a game. Great single player game with good difficulty progression as you rank up with great range of vehicles and customisation.
Has an excellent 12 player online mode also, ranked games or just free for all casual game.

Its not just a racing game as you can push, crash into and wreck your opponents vehicle to get by them. Makes for very tense and exciting races.

If you can access the PS store then you can download the Motorstorm Pacific Rift demo. Try it out and then pick up motorstorm 1 for cheap as its platinum.

I havent played any others really apart from Gran Turismo (Again demo available i think) but thats too serious me thinks

The MotorStorm demo on PSN is pretty crap. Final game is way better. Try it out though anyway.

I'll give it a blast anyway, but I've learned from experience that demos can be deceptive!

I have Motorstorm and Burnout Paradise and while Motorstorm is brilliant, I think I have gotten more mileage (excuse the unindented pun) out of Burnout Paradise.

Burnout Paradise has had and will continue to have free updates. The last one added motorbikes. Next one out will add an island to the map.

Iam in the same boat as you OP. I enjoy pick up and play racers. Motorstorm is a good choice. I also enjoyed, colin mcrae dirt. My only issue with this is there is very few proper races. But the ones where there is races against the computer it generally will involve crashing into each other.

It has some great graphics in it, great damage engine, which was used for grid this year.
I picked it up cheap the only reason i purchased. Worth the €30 paid.

Is pure any good? Haven't read any reviews yet. Must look at burnout paradise, i really enjoyed burnout out the ps2 and psp.

Pure is very good and lots of fun but the single player is kind of short - you'll get a lot more out of Burnout Paradise. I don't play online much, but both have pretty solid options (Pure has 16-player races, which are pretty mad with a good crowd). I'm playing Motostorm 2 now and it's loads of fun, though I'm pretty rubbish at it - seems the key to winning races is to be very aggressive, ramming other vehicles a lot, etc. Is Motostorm worth it since I already have the sequel? It's only €21 on Play.com, Platinum...
