Right, I'm a Leaving Cert student and obviously CAO is being shoved down my throat. Recently teaching Science and Maths has appealed to me and this course was ideal considering I'm only doing Chemistry as a Science subject for my Leaving Cert.

Anyway, I was hoping one of you aspiring Science teachers would be able to tell me what this course is like? What the hours are like and if some of the people who are in 3rd/4th year would be able to tell me what it's as you keep going? Like I've said, science teaching is something that has appealed to me greatly and the fact that a H-Dip isn't needed from this course (as far as I know anyway) is ideal.

    hi
im a first year science ed student and so far its definitely the course for me.
iv 26 hours at the moment, might change in semester 2.
science ed have 3 hours of physics labs and 3 hours of chemistry labs each week. i didnt do chemistry 4 leaving cert (did physics) but they do new things in the labs that werent done for leaving cert so every1s on the same level. The difference between common entry science and science ed is the teaching part. We have teaching methodologies once a week and they are brilliant. As well as learning skills and all that, we have a brilliant laugh. Thats where u meet all ur friends at the start.

im sure u hav more questions (becoz that was mostly about how fun it is) so ask away :D
