converting pdf to word

Hi i dont know if anyone can help me or if this is even possible but i want to convert a pdf document into a word doc without losing the formatting

you want to keep the format ?
pdf's are designed to be read only

if you can't select the text then you'll need some OCR software
what is your budget ?

microsoft office 2003 and higher have document imaging with OCR but it's hit/miss that it will keep the formatting

don't forget you need to respect the copyright of the original pdf too

If you have the full acrobat, and the security of the document allows it, then thats what capt was talking about selecting the text.

I've experimented with about half a dozen tools freeware/shareware and they are generally very hit or miss

I ended up spending a few shillings on BCL Converter as it provided the best results for the files I had

Here's one that I use.

It removes PDF restrictions on printing, editing and copying text. So you can easily copy from PDF and paste into word and your document is converted

Since Microsoft 2007 and 2010 have the save as PDF add-on, creating PDF is not a problems, but many people still don't know how to convert PDF to Word or other format.

OpenOffice.org, the Open Source alternative to Microsoft Office, has an extension that allows you to open and edit PDF files in OpenOffice Draw.
