Is there anything illegal about pay cuts, removal of benefits...

I am in the dreaded construction industry and our company has issued 20% paycuts across the board, basically take it or walk. Also removing al previous benefits, sick pay, Xmas hols, additional hols for service our 5 years etc.

Can they just take this all away and we have to sit there and take it?

We have no terms and conditions of employment either.

Any advise or knowledge welcomed.

Regarding holidays you are still entitled to be paid on certain days including Christmas.

I thought you have to get an employment contract but it states here it doesn't have to be written:

Make the State work for you!
We have any number of bodies (quangos ) that work here, there a few in the links provided, feel free to call them with questions
Most local towns have a citizens information bureau and you can see their website is excellent. Call in for a cup of tea and a chat and they'll sort you out, I've often used them. Sure you're paying for it already........
