The above interview is with one of my favourite analysts, who advised getting out of commodities ealier in the year (Saved me a bundle). He now advises going long gold but in particular gold stocks. (there are interviews from last year and earier this year that are worth listening to)

his basic logic is that in a credit contraction the real cost of gold goes up in that all commodities will fall relative to gold, the upside for goldstocks being that mining costs go down and help increase margins, In the 1930's gold stocks were one of the few asset classes to rise even though the price of gold was fixed

I like this idea in that I was not fully convinced of the goldbug case of looking for a dollar hyperinflation, so short of a complete breakdown of the financial system where I guess bullion would be a safer bet, goldstocks offer a great investment for the years ahead, not to mention they are dirt cheap now as they got hammered in October

I don't think he's saying anyting revolutionary really. It's fairly typical in the flight to quality.

In the context that most people got into commodities for the wrong reasons, Bob Hoye's view of the market was pretty consistant for the last year or 2 and he was calling for a credit contraction and a commodies dump this year. the role of gold is not well understood in the investment community, it is seen as inflation hedge, so in the current environment many investors maybe wary of gold based on their experiences in gold or commodities this year.

    Your welcome

I havnt listened to these yet but the website below have done a 5 hr show interviewing various companies, I happen to own a couple of them but be aware juniors are risky however there should be good interviews on the state of the industry
I dont agree with all the view points of the host Jim Puplava (for now), he is a classic gold bug and is looking for a continuation of the commodities bull run , I happen to have a more deflationary outlook so at this stage I would not be buying silver companies for the long term
