Mystery shopping - has anyone done this?

    Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone has done some mystery shopping and if it paid well, and if it was reliable. I've seen a couple of websites that seem to ask for your account details in order to pay you. Is this the usual procedure or should I avoid them?
    Thanks!

thought it was a bit strange alright. They were just some sites that came up when I googled 'mystery shopping'. Any idea if there are legitimate ones around though?

I've done it but don't realy have the time anymore

The best one was visiting 4 pubs in North Dublin to drink Stella and Becks. Getting paid for the beer, travel expenses and the mystery shopping fee for each pub too :D

They're not all like that though

Eileen does look for recruits here now and again in this forum
There are loooooads of jobs in it anyway, but realy I'd say it best if you're a student with free time

And no! Don't give your account details to anyone. Hows it's usually done is you are emailed the job spec, you print off and post your report and you get a a cheque a week or two later

I've been doing it regularly for a couple of years and have always been paid directly into my bank account. Asking for your bank details so they can pay you isn't always the mark of a shady company!

I enjoy doing it, though filling in the reports can be epic. I do a lot of financial and retail jobs so I'm regularly looking for a mortgage/business account/phone upgrade. Once you're into the swing of it the fibs come naturally.

Hotel visits are the best but I only get to do a couple a year. To be able to comment fully on the hotel they insist you try EVERYTHING while you're there, so it makes for an interesting overnight :D

It's not a full-time career but it's a bit of fun and easy money.
