I am just curious how many runners actually consider indoors as a full season?

I know that the odyssey is a great event and attracts some big names but
like would there be many who take this very serious and would there be enough top quality races indoor here (without travelling abroad) to merit it or do many people see it as a way to just get ready for the outdoor?

I find its a good way to break up your season. If you are not a cross-country runner you may not have a race from end of July to late April. Thats a long time to just train and outside of doing time trials or having comparisons to previous season training times its hard to know how you are travelling.

You could have 4 or 5 meets which ain't bad. AAI Games, Munster Open, Leinster Open, IUAA Champs and then the Nationals and maybe more including the meet in the Univ of Ulster in the new facility there.

Once training doesn't suffer its a good thing, can be a nice mid-year distraction.
