For anyone beginning in the daunting world of colouring with photoshop, I have just found an awesome book that will really help you out here-
"Hi-Fi Color for comics" by Brian and Kristy Miller-published by Impact books.
I found my copy in O'Mahonys in Limerick city for under 20 euro.
It's very clear and in-depth aswell as showing a lot of time saving shortcuts and tricks to help you along. Also comes with a CD full of brushes and other goodies!

So just to let anyone who is lost by this aspect of comics-this is the one to get-and I've tried them all!:):):):)
