Left the car into a garage tonight to fix a faulty reverse light. I tried replace bulb etc. but still would not work .. Mechanic said he'd take a look and to collect the car tomorrow ... Any ideas on the cost of such a fix ?

looking for ballpark figure .. so I have the cash to cover paying ...

    Thanks

    Wild guess.

€2 for the bulb, €30 for labour?

more if it's the switch thats faulty.

It could be a faulty reverse light switch. The switch is mounted in the gearbox. At most I'd imagine it would be half an hours labour plus the price of the part.

OP said its not the bulb. Sender switch or wiring or relay. No major cost anyway

Just in case you're worried about an NCT, there is no legal requirement to have a reverse light.

Said he changed the switch and charged €45 ... gave him €50 ..

Now on to the driving test :-(
