Game Awards 2008 - Overview (Updated - 15/1/09)

    That time of the year again - time to acknowledge the highs and lows of 2008's gaming calendar. There have been enough games released in the last 3 months alone to fill most nomination slots, so spare a thought for the big games released earlier this year when making your selections!

    Nominations will be done in waves, and 2 new batches will be posted once a week. The groupings are as follows, and will be posted in this order over the next 3-4 weeks:

    1. Sony PSP
    2. PC
    3. Nintendo DS
    4. Nintendo Wii
    5. Microsoft XBox360
    6. Sony PS3
    7. Fun Categories
    8. Overall

    Voting will happen around the Christmas period, and results made available in the New Year.

    On with the nominations!

    Rules updated on all threads. 2 nominations per category now allowed.
    If you have only nominated one, please edit your original post to add a second selection.

    DS categories added, PC and PSP closed.

    All category nominations will be summarised in a few weeks and threads will be reopened to allow for a final wave of nominations (if I leave them all open, things will get messy - need to keep threads current).

    PS3 will be added tonight - sitting in plymouth airport now and need to catch a plane!

    The nominations have been counted, and the survey is up and running. Please go to the following URL to take the survey:

    Some notes:
    1. You need to be a registered member of boards.ie and logged in to take the survey.
    2. Only 1 response per boards user will be counted towards the results.
    3. If you have any technical issues with the survey, please PM me - don't post to this thread.
    4. Results will be private until the survey has finished.
    5. Full results will be disclosed at the end of the survey (all answers for all questions) so you can see how things shaped up overall.
    6. The published results will be anonymous, so vote honestly!
    7. Survey will end Friday 23rd January, 2009 at midnight.
