Go to the hostel you want and click on the Contact us link. You can send an e-mail in English and someone will answer it. Most hostels have people who speak some English as long as you don't speak too fast.

I've stayed in the hostel in Chamrousse and can definitely recommend it. Very fast transfer from Grenoble, and a nice friendly hostel with a cheap bar (no spirits but lots of wine and beer), lots of food, and a jacuzzi. Also, the biggest dressing up wardrobe I've ever seen. They all speak Engish there. 0033-476899131.

I've also stayed in hostels in Val Cenis (recommended), Serre Chevallier (avoid, didn't like the food), Seez/Les Arcs (recommended) and Tignes (recommended). Besides the official youth hostel hostels, there are also lots of other establishments run in the same way (accommodation and full board, lift pass and skiing organised). The CIS in Val Cenis is like that (highly recommended), also UCPA and others.
