I have NTL Basic currently - this one http://www.upc.ie/television/basictv/

From my reckoning I'm gonna lose ITV/UTV, Setanta, Channel 6 & Living if I switch to Sky.

    Am I missing any?

    Thanks very much.

You can get all the ITV channels for free by tuning them in "other channels". All the others are available on the basic Sky mix, except Setanta

Oh right, didn't realise you could tune in other channels. I thought it was SKys menu and that was it. That's good to know. I don't watch Setanta at all so that doesn't bother me, although I'm sure I'll find some reason I didn't wanna lose it !

    You can tune in:
    BBC 1, 2, 3, 4, CBBC, Cbeebies, BBC News 24, BBC Parlament
    ITV 1, 2, 3, 4, CITV
    Channel 5,
    Channel 4, E4, More4, Film 4
Bubble Hits and various other music channels and other local and channels for free via satellite.

See the sticky at the top for details.

You mean they don't show up in the regular Sky Menus but I can access them via my Sky box and Sky dish?

Or are you suggesting I just skip Sky and go with all these other channels?

Will check out sticky too. I guess my main concern really is that I'm not losing channels by switching to SKy from what I have now.

All except the ITVs,C5 and the BBCs (one and two are on Sky) are on the basic sky package.

I rang ntl today to move down a step from the tv package i was on. Now all i have is rte 1, rte 2, setanta, city channel, paramount+1 (not the normal paramount) and euro news!

Surely that's not right is it?

From the page I linked above they say
*The number of channels per pack may vary depending on your geographical location.

So I guess it could be. Not really sure though - maybe you don't have them all tuned in. Ring them and ask what's available in your area.

    not on the Sky EPG:
    • ITV1, 2, 3, & 4
    • BBC3, 4, News, CBBC, Cbeebies
    • Five
    • Setanta Ireland

all but Setanta Ireland can be "tuned" in (though they can't be recorded on Sky+).

Definately not right only 6 channels no TV3 and TG4 which they must carry under law.
