Has anybody been to the Children's Christmas wonderland at the Castle, if so is it worth the visit. I believe the box hedge twinkles with lights and is magical even for adults, anyone been ?

No, not yet. But the most important thing about Birr Castle - that makes it pretty unique and important in the world - is not the Castle or even the grounds, it is the giant telescope in its grounds, the largest in the entire world between 1845 and 1910.:)
