Buy a signal splitter, two Coax connectors and 5 metres of coax cable.
Split the incoming signal two ways. One going to your original telly and the other going to your telly upstairs via the 5 metre coax cable.

I held off subscribing to UPC and they sent better and better offers. In the end they installed 4 points, €15 each, and no monthly subscription fee for these points (which is a ripoff). The did a really good job, all good cables etc.

Do NOT skimp on the coax cable, esp. if you plan on using the digital box on the line, even then do not skimp.

Should be a proper splitter, not sure what spec, but not just one that is basically a Y piece of wiring.

UPC will do it for a cheap one off fee of about €20, you're unlikely to do it for less and they will do a professional job. No splitters, they'll run a new cable from the main box.

This is very good value, and I don't have much positive to say about them otherwise:)

Just an extra query on this - I assume that if you're on the digital package and you get an extra point installed they won't charge extra for you to use the analogue signal from the other point?

AFAIK they will charge for the install of each point and a monthly fee for additional points. We were allowed a max of 4 points in total, costing €15 each at the time. And the deal was free sub to each point. I think it is usually 1.50 or 2.50 per point per month. So it could add up. They did a very good job, good cables etc. I figure this is since they must standby it afterwards. It could be cheaper to get a professional in if you do have to pay that fee per month. e.g. at 1.50, we have 3 additional points, so €54 extra per year, ontop of the €45 for the original install.

My brother then did an extra point himself (we did ask and were refused at the time), his gives some trouble, due to cheap cables he used.

I don't know what happens if you ask them to cancel the point subscription they put in though, i.e. are they really going to come and rip it out? might charge a sneaky downgrade fee or something.

it is 50 euro to get ntl out then 8.50 a month after that its a rip off i would not mind paying them the 50euro its the fees they charge you later.

That's for an extra digital box.

If you want an extra point installed it's a one off fee of €20-25 (or was when I got it done a few months ago).

Ring and ask, it doesn't mention it on the website.

They still charge about €3 for extra points we had put in years ago, would be cheaper to get them out to put in new ones.
