Applying for this just on the off chance I want to go. Work here is starting to look scarce and I want to keep my options open. I just have a bit of question as regards the picture submission. They seem fairly strict on the photo you need to give them. At the moment I'm sporting some mutton chops. A bit like this but slightly longer, http://z.about.com/d/menshair/1/0/7/0/-/-/muttonchops.jpg
Anyway, I only tend to keep chops for a few months at a time. Will this be a problem for photo? I won't have them after Christmas so will it make much of a difference if I will look different from my photo? Also, they don't look very professional and are subject to prejudice, will this be a problem also?

Shouldn't be an issue. Just stick to their guidelines, i.e., no dark glasses or background shadows, and it should be fine. Of course, also use their validator before submitting the actual application.

I doubt it would make a difference. But if you get rid of them every few months anyway why not just get rid early rather than taking the chance ;)

I guess I just don't want to get rid of them so soon. I also met this chick last friday who asked me to get rid of them and i don't want her to think I did it cause she asked. Jaysus

Just a follow up on this I recevied my forms today telling me that I had not yet qualified for a Visa but had been chosen to go on to the next stage of processing. It says on the letter that there are 100,000 going on for this but ony 50,000 -55,000 visas available. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I find their system a bit strange as they allow entering any crap (without validation) before telling it wasn't selected. I would think if you enter something incorrectly, they would tell your input invalid. Or better still, just use a unique transaction id without asking for anything else. This way, with proper validation of this id which is rather easy, there would be no confusion.
