Hello ,looking for a few movies for the holidays coming. Wanted to get some good Blu-ray versions and wondered has anyone any recommendations of any genre ,preferably newish releases.
Two that I've ordered already are the dark knight and Reign over me.

    Cheers.

Transformers, Hellboy, Die Hard 4, Resident Evil 1,2,3.

I'm waiting on the Dark Knight and Hellboy 2 to arrive next month.

You could also try Cloverfield. I was dubious about getting this as most over hyped films are ****e but this really impressed me and while silly in places, it ws a lot better than I thought it would be.

I think you'll have to be a little more specific of your tastes if you want any decent recommendations.

Oldboy is on Bluray, definitely worth a look. ;)

'The Nightmare Before Christmas' has been released on a fantastic looking Blu-ray.

That NEEDS to be in your collection!

Cheers ,I ignored cloverfield for the same reason as yourself ,I have resident evil on dvd and I love it. Thanks for the recommendations.

I've got oldboy on dvd ,great movie;). I like anything from finding neverland to the likes of irreversible. I find it hard to be happy with the quality of some movies on Blu-ray ,I really think that reign over me will be a good balance of quality and movie.

    Reign over me.

Get PunchDrunkLove. It's Adam Sandlers best performance. Also get There Will Be Blood and you may find yourself entering the greatest of movie circles known as PT Anderson fans.

The Oldboy Bluray transfer seemed a bit crap to me though, the copy I got even comes with a DVD so that you can presumably compare the (lack of) difference between the SD and HD versions:confused:

Since we're just recommending random films here, The Host is one of my fave films for showing off Bluray image quality, and a decent film to boot!
