Major problems

Bought a computer from about 5-6 months ago, cost me just under €1700, and it was an amzing computer, best I'd ever had:

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=336121 Power Source
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=347766 Motherboard
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=338086 Processor
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=349985 RAM
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=327330 Video Card
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=340273 HDD
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=340901 Disk drive
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=335480 Sound Card
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=350423 OS

But it started freezing totally, at random times. Sometimes the computer could be running for hours, playing Crysis at near max settings, and sometimes crash while idling on desktop or while defragging. Other problems such as programs closing down, AVG, Windows display, and pretty much anything. I guessed RAM problems, so I took advantage of my warrenty and arranged to have it tested and if necessary, fixed. A month later(-.-)hat it was the video card that was the problem, and they replaced my 8800GTX wit a 9800GT, and I thought that the problem was sorted.

Got the machine home again, formatted, reinstalled windows, installed latest chipset drivers, RAID, graphics drivers and sound card drivers, all to get a clean start with the new setup, but the same thing has happened again, crashing randomly, bluescreen, and its just bloody heartbreaking that this is happening while I have CoD5, Farcry2, and Wrath of the Lich King sitting beside, what is essentially become a large paperweight. I'm leaning towards seeking a refund for the machine and seeking another computer elsewhere, but if someone can shed some light on this and suggest a less severe solution, I would be immensely grateful.

    Cheers in advance :)

((I dont mean this to be a flame thread for komplett, I have bought many things from them and I have never found fault with them before.))

There's quite a few free tools you can try separate aspects of the machine. Memtest86+ for the RAM, Prime95 to put the CPU under load. Also getting the error message from the bluescreens would help. Right click my computer, choose properties, go to advanced, startup options, and untick the auto restart option. This will allow you to see the error text.

what anti virus are you running?

I was running Avast and it froze my PC,, was using it for nearly a year and then this started happening.. I uninstalled it and it worked fine.

You were given a 9800GT in lieu of an 8800GTX?

You got seriously burned there. If it's not too late I'd kick up stink over that.

Looking at Memtest86+ site, trying to figure out which file to download. Not the best at this thing :o. I managed to catch "Memory Content" in bold letters near the top of the screen during one of the bluescreen crashes, but not much else.

I'm using AVG antivirus, have done for some time. Never had any trouble with it.

Believe me man, stink there shall be. I had thought they would replace it with another 8800GTX. But there aint no point in raisin hell over the card if there is something else causing the comp to fail. (at least not yet)

The latest ISO version, in zipped form. Burn to CD and boot from it.

Had a few freezes and crashes in a row and got pissed off with the machine and decided to leave it for a few days incase I tossed it out the window. Ran Memtest, it seemingly found nothing wrong.

But I had two bluescreens today, and since I disable auto restart on crashes I was able to see what they were saying, the first one said :

"bios in this system not fully ACPI compliant" this one kinda spun me out of sorts, since I thought all BIOS were ACPI compliant.

and the second one was "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT", accompanied by some technical information

    "STOP : 0x0000001A (0x00041289, 0x01D24001, 0x00000469, 0x01D25D09)"

I'd like to find out the problem before I'm forced to ring up the crowd I got it from and cause hassle. So any and all help is appreciated :)

    Cheers.

One option is to update the BIOS to the current P07 version for that board.

    http://www.bjorn3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26152

This isn't a specific fix for your issues, but the changenotes for it do mention microcode updates and improved memory support.

Thanks mate, I'll give it a shot.

Another bluescreen hit me with PFN_LIST_CORRUPT.

I think I'll start writing a book with this stuff, always something different
