From what I remember in Madrid [1996] yes they are expensive and if you call one out to pick you up the turn the meter on not from the time they pick you up but from the place they were called from.

Not as expensive as Ireland but more expensive than they used to be.

Why would you want to get one from Murcia to Alicante? There's a bus and rail link as far as I know.
