Death Via Satellite is a rocktacular, electro/new wave/indie night that holds court once a month in Eamonn Dorans, Dublin. Gathering momentum and a loyal crowd since 2006, DVS brings the best bands to you with minimum fuss and maximum noise.

After starting out on Tuesdays, we’ve moved to Friday nights so that hangover can be dealt with on a Saturday in bed rather than Wednesday in work… DVS has already seen some storming shows by the likes of Love Lies Sleeping (L.A., USA), The Kits (Australia), Queen Kong, alazarussoul, Mendoza, The Ultra Montanes, Kopek, mojoFURY, Fight Like Apes, DC Pakt, Orphan Code, Gorbachov, Distractors, Autoban, Laundry Shop & Stagger Lee…

After recovering from the hallucination that was Death Via Satellite’s Halloween Ball (congrats to the man-cow that won the best dressed award, and some of the finest vodka Dorans had to offer!), show number 24 is Friday 28th November in Eamonn Dorans. We proudly present a line up that includes a headline set by GREEN LIGHTS, who have just released their 2nd EP and bring their sometimes moody, sometimes vital but always inspiring brand of electronic indie to DVS. Before that we have the debut performance of electronic/indie/pop upstarts SLEEP THIEVES, with a mix of floor shaking electropop and delicate indie-electronica keeping the stage warm. Tipped ambient rock outfit AUTUMN OWLS open proceedings, following on from a well-received and accomplished EP release earlier this summer, with DJ’s manning the decks from 11.30 with a heady mix of electro, rock & indie for all…

GREEN LIGHTS offer us their 2nd EP release this year matching real quality to their obviously prolific output. Earlier release Small Curious Things marked them out as ones-to-watch as they mixed mood, message and melody effortlessly in what was one of the most accomplished EP's about in early '08. They have further evolved their electronic tinged indie/post-rock further with their anticipated 2nd release Time To Tell The Parents this month, its 4 tracks veering from rousing rock to jaunty electro-pop via ambient, haunted electronics. They go on their 2nd countrywide tour of 2008 supporting this release, DVS proudly hosts one of these shows so witness the songs live before the EP reaches your iPOD...

SLEEP THIEVES came to being in Summer 2008, with ex-Butterfly Explosion songstress Sorcha Brennan joining ranks with a crack duo of sequencer/programmers to create a sound that Hot Press have dubbed as 'damn catchy indie-electronica'. Friday 28th is their very first show and their careful basement tinkering with all manner of synths, keys, beats, glock, megaphone, guitars and effected vocals will give rise to crowd-pleasing electropop shape-throwers, as well as the gentler side of their sonic spectrum that the band's myspace tracks showcase at present. Be there when it all began at DVS 24...

AUTUMN OWLS utilise brooding guitar and piano lines with mournful yet expansive vocals to create a sparse soundscape previously visited by artists such as Elliot Smith, or possibly a more experimental Wilco. Their last EP 'The Insomnia Lodge' has rightly garnered positive press from publications such as Channel 4 Music & AU Magazine, and they gear up for their next release 'On The Trail Of The Disappearing' in December with a performance at DVS 24.

Doors open at 8.45, admission a paltry €10. With DJ’s til late beaming in rock/electro/indie/new wave/post punk, come early for the bands, stay late for drinking, dancing, debauchery and Death Via Satellite…
