Bought "Band of Brothers" last week on play.com, credit card is all set up and ready to go, however i still have not been charged and the order has not been dispatched, it just says "order placed" ... "
    What does ‘Order placed’ mean?

    • Your order has been placed, but payment is not yet being processed.
    • Before we start to process your payment you may cancel your order without penalty
    "

Do i have to manually pay somehow or do play automatically process the payment??

Probably just waiting on stock to come in.

I bought two games from them last Friday. Mine still states 'order placed', and the items are in stock.

As you can see from Epinions, Play.com have no customer services.

I am just wondering has anybody ever got through to the telephone number they supply?

    Play.com have no email address.

I ordered several items (including band of brothers on Blu-Ray) with amazon at the same time as the play order, and they were delivered this morning.

On larger orders orders, Amazon works out cheaper (even with postage included) because you can pay in £s, whereas Play.com have a ridiculas exchange rate of £1 = €1.41.

There has been calls on this forum for people to boycott Play.com, but am sure that won't work. Better to state your grievances on review websites like Epinion.

My order for the band of brothers boxset has been "processing" since 28/10/2008.

Their phone number is out of service.

I just got fed up with them. I cancelled. Obviously they don't have the items in stock at all even though their website has them as 'in stock' the whole time.

Went back to amazon and was able to buy them through one of their 'marketplace' companies. Its a very small company called Chilloutgames. They sent me an email within an hour saying my order was processed. The next day (yesterday) I received an email to state that the order was now dispatched.
They were slightly cheaper than Play but I had to pay postage.

Will report back when it is delivered

Its a brilliant set. Got it in Blu-ray. I have a AV receiver that encodes the DTS Master track. Watched four eposodes in the last two evenings. Good job my house is detached :o
In the scene in the third eposode where yer man is deafened from the explosion, I felt I was deafened also

Just a heads up for you regarding Play. They are based in Jersey so anything over the limit you are liible for VAT. Bought a game for my brother a few weeks ago for around €60. It was stopped by customs and when he collected it he was charged around €20 which included a An Post processing fee of €5.

Yep. Its been well documented here on the boards. Avoid box sets from play if they are over €25.
No such problems with Amazon. VAT is charged and it is EU dispatch. They are more reliable and fast service. If an item is not in stock they will say so. They do not rob you in the exchange rate. The downside is they charge postage to Ireland. But for a large box of several items it is only about 7 or 8 euro

Play.com seem to be having serious problems with their orders. I reordered my stuff from amazon on Wednesday morning and I received it this morning

    It worked out cheaper too...
