Was considering lenghtening my clubs by an inch. Am tall and could do with longer than standard. Want to do it myself. Any tips or advice on how to get the new extensions or grips and how to do it

If you lenghten them they play more flexible. Equally if you shorten them they play stiffer. Also lenghetning the club changes the swing weight, for example PING would put a different weight into the head of an iron that was custom fit to be an inch longer. Any pro can do the job of putting an extension in and putting on a new grip, they would probably also change the lie of the club as it changes with the length. So its a fairly involved process! It's not very common for this to be done anymore though, most people tend to get custom fitted for a set from scratch rather then altering their existing clubs.

    How tall are you ?

If you are six four + you have a case for lengthening them otherwise its not really worth it. I have had people shorter than me(6 2in) talking about how they need the clubs lengthened when really all they just needed was to correct faults in their posture and swing.

Talk to your pro about it..I would not recommend anyone to do it on their own, to much hassle and a pain in the buttocks if you want to trade in those clubs in the future.

I am 6'3 and am getting +1" shafts. It all depends on what stance you feel comfortable in.

I've bought grips from here before - http://www.gamolagolf.co.uk/
    They also sell shaft extensions.

Getting the whole lot in one package from the UK should cut down on postage prices.
