    Hello everyone!

I am French currently living in Ireland, I am hunter back home but I have not been hunting for a while now. I do not know anyone who goes hunting in Ireland but I am dying to go hunting again and see how you guys do it around here. I tried to do some research on the net but I did not found much at a reasonable price. I would be delighted if anyone could give me some links, addresses or offers... just looking for a nice day out shooting really. I am not difficult anything would be nice rabbits, pigeons...

I am looking forwards to reading from you.
    Thanks

Start with the NARGC and get in contact with your local clubs.
Failing that, approach some local farmers and ask their permission to shoot vermin, rabbits etc. Most will gladly give it to you.

Maturin_lecho, I am in Louth also, our gun club wont allow us to bring anyone on a shoot only members, but you are more than welcome to PM me with any queries you may have I may also be able to put you in touch with some farmers in the louth area that may want someone to shoot pigeons, as for rabbits, think i only seen about two rabbits this past two years, more hares than rabbits, plenty of foxes.

Insurance is the first thing any farmer will ask you for so contact NARGC, have you got a gun ,dog, how long are you living here.

Thanks guys for your answers. I will take a look at the NARGC website and see about insurance and stuff. Thank you very much Maca for the help, it’s a pity that you are not allowed to bring anyone (even with no gun for a day out ?). In the first place I actually thought of renting a gun and pay for a day out really, I thought it would easier, plus I don't actually have my gun here with me. But I will think about the option to contact directly farmers and see if I can bring my gun here with me. I will probably have a few more questions for you, anyway I am going to have a look at the NARGC website first of all!

I live in Ireland for almost 3 years and I don’t have a dog.
    Thanks again for your help.

You can't join the NARGC compensation fund without being a club member. If you get no joy join the Country Side Alliance for insurance. Courtlough in Balbriggan is an agent as far as I know.
