    Hi there,
I am an 18year old classical singer with choral experience, looking for a choir in the dublin area. Anyone know of a choir with a fairly young age group that sing church/classical/musical theatre? I am in college so have lots of time on my hands and think it would be something enjoyable and rewarding to do this year.
I would really appreciate any replies!
    Regards,
    Hannah

Is there no choir in your college? Failing that you could try out for the
The Ulysses Chamber Choir they're looking for people at the mo..
just click here to find out more

Or Mornington singers are looking for singers, mostly Tenors and Bass' unfortunately
so that mightn't be a good idea. Unless your secretly a countertenor?? =D
    I joke hehe

Trinity has a choir that is open to anyone to join as far as I know.

    You could try
    http://www.rte.ie/performinggroups/rtephilharmonicchoir/

They rehearse in Donnybrook area on Wednesday nights, and perform 4-6 concerts a year in the NCH with the National Symphony Orchestra.

However, at 18 you'd be the youngest person in the choir, probably by about 5 years. Which is a bit sucky.

Come to think of it, so does Maynooth - though that's probably a bit out of your way...

I know someone who sings with a choir called the young dublin singers.I think that's what it's called. I'll find out. They are all around the 19 - 25 age group I gather and do classical and a mix of stuff.

The Mornington Singers are currently only looking for basses. Other voice types can sign up to our mailing list to be notified when we have vacancies.

However our join the choir page does link to lists of other choirs you could join.
