setanta subscription on a dreambox

    hi i would like to subscribe to setanta sports

    1. Do you need a sky box and card says sky number on back of card is mandatory
    2. If i get a sky card and put it in dreambox 500 will i be able to subscribe to setanta

    Hi waster

    1. You only need the card but it must be an Irish one in order to get Setanta Ireland if its UK no Setanta Ireland.
    1a. I'd use the Sky box until the card is active by setanta.

    2. You should be able to use the 500 with the right softcam to read the card and it'll update the card also. It won't read the card with basic setup.

    I dont have sky box, can i use a mates box to get it activated without affecting their sky subscription.

    Wrong. It is there but only with certain programming blocked.
