    Hi guys,
I've recently purchased a 450D...Just wondering what type of upgrade plan would you recommend? i.e. Is it a better lens I would purchase next? Or some form of external flash? Basically is there a best practise to move forward with this camera??! If I'm buying a next size lens...Wat would you recommend?

    Cheers

Get out there and take some photos first!!

See what you like taking photos of, and upgrade depending on that - There's lots of specialised gear, but there's no point blowing money on that if it's not your thing!

yeah i've taken loads of photos....mainly i seem to be taking them at weddings...funny how all ur mates get married at the same time!
The thing with the pictures is that when I zoom in it really is a case of getting so far but not being able to do really good close-ups of the person from further away.
As for the evening indoor pics(lights are low!) the flash only works to a certain distance. I guess I'd prioritise the lens.....I know a higher spec lens is required....but dont want to break the bank either...

Well, for a handy upgrade, most people here have the Canon 50mm 1.8, you can get it online, all in, for about 100 quid - Check out lens reviews on www.fredmiranda.com

There's a link in the FAQ thread about the 50mm 1.8 aswell

Go out take photos and see how things go, however I'd also have to recommend Canon 50mm 1.8 to buy on-line, well worth it! :)

I just got me a 450D a little over a week ago too. Be careful as you can spend more money quicker than you think. I just got a 28-300 f3.5-6.3, a 50mm 1.8, the necessary filters+lens hoods, a gorillapod, a shutter release cable, extension tubes, a spare memory card, spare batteries, a small case and a backpack.

    Now I'm ready :pac:

Out of all the lenses I'm absolutely loving the 50mm 1.8. For it's price it is suprisingly sharp and will work brilliantly in low light.

another nifty fifty addict here. You will never spend a more efficient hundred on improving your photographs. Its like upgrade-in-a-box.

    DeV.
