Hi, i'm 22. Working in a full time job. I can earn anything between €1700 and €2100 a month. My job is basically based on commission, with the basic salary being only €7.26 an hour, but because of commission they get away with it. Anyway, i'm paying out €900 a month on two car loans. One for €310 and the other for €586 a month. I should be finished paying of the smaller one in about 4 months time. I also have two credit cards i'm trying to pay off. One with a balance of €800 and the other of €900. On top of this, the girl friend wants to move out and into our own place. I'm just wondering would i be entitled to rent allowance and is there any other benifits i can get like tax back or anything. I'm not good with any of this type of stuff.

    You're entitled to minimum wage

I see nothing here about getting less in a sales job on commission

have to try look into this.. Anyway, me and my girlfriend are thinking of moving out. would i, or her be entitled to rent allowance since i'm paying out so much in loans, and technically she's not working as she's getting paid into the hand 200 a week for hairdressing.

sure the whole country would be getting a rent allowance if that was the case

Rent Allowance is means-tested. That means it depends on your salary and outgoings. It's worth a try, all they can do is reject you.

The person that you need to speak to is your Community Welfare Officer. Your local Social Welfare office should have all the information you need to find your local Community Welfare Officer.

Check this link for more details about Rent Allowance.
