    Are these legal in ireland for general use??
    I think that there illegal for shooting:confused:

    For general use, knock yourself out (with the obvious usual caveats like no peeking into bedroom windows and so on).
    Any night vision riflescope however - whether or not you've mounted it on your rifle - requires permission from your local superintendent to possess (technically, it should be a firearms licence, but most supers just sign off on an authorisation to have one).
    Under the law, an NV scope is technically a firearm itself.
