Ive read many reviews online, played this guitar in a store and I love it, but am finding it difficult to justify the extra few hundred quid that this is up from an American Std Strat.

Can anyone give me any reasons why I should go for a standard strat over this guitar?

(note, the guitar i actually played has a rosewood fretboard and LSR Roller nut, but the only image i could find on thomann with the roller nut was with a maple fretboard)

YOUR A PIECE OF WORK!!! Seriously though, the bacchus may be terriffic, but ive never had the chance to play one so I wouldnt go for it. Ive handled and played the fender and I know I like it so it wins out over the fender. besides, the bacchus is only about 150 cheaper than the fender, and the fender will be from a legit shop ( I dont count ebay as a legit shop).

    Nice try though!

i have the deluxe strat hss,and am very happy with it.the out of phase settings with the s1 switch are great.apart from the lsr roller nut and the mint green plastic parts i dont think there is much else different.but when i played them side by side i went for the deluxe version.shop around, the likes of soundslive.co.uk usually have shop models that are a little cheaper.

You can get it for 946 euro here: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/fender-deluxe-strat/8994

Well worth it over the Standard Strat. Those Samarium Cobalt pickups are lovely, plus they are noiseless which is a bonus!

    +100000...
Seriously though, you will not be disappointed with a bacchus. It's cheaper, and believe me, it will be better! I'm playing my SSS bacchus Gplayer now, the G-studio's lil bro afaik, and it's fantastic, plays a lot better than my friends fender Deluxe.

I actually rather the SSS delux over the HSS. I think the singlecoil bridge pickup is one of the sounds that makes a strat sound like a strat. unfortunately it doesnt come with a roller nut. does that make much difference in reality?

Thats a terriffic price! Ive already mailed xmusic asking about matching the price of the HSS, but think now il have to ask them if they can match that price.

Regarding the bacchus strat delux, what makes it even better than the fender? Im not defensive of fender, i have no reason to be, and am genuinely curious.

Without having played one though, I still would be reluctant to purchase.

I have 2 US Strats, a Plus and a Standard. The Plus has a roller nut which (1) looks cooler because I don't need string tree's on my headstock and (2) seems to hold tuning a slight bit better under heavy tremolo use. Personally if I had the choice (within monetary reason) I would get the roller nute.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but alan (if your still reading), if you youtube search "bacchus strat", one of your vids is the 4th that comes up. Kickass playing btw....and you really do have freakishly long fingers :).

Here's a beautiful looking Deluxe HSS Strat on Adverts

I've no clue about it but from the pics it looks damn sweet. If I could afford it and warrant getting it I'd have it in a heart beat, and change to s single coil bridge pup and obviously pick guard then. But it looks amazing
