Anyone else watching God Bless America on Channel 4 right now?

Have to say, it's pretty interesting stuff, and perhaps Christian Evangelicals have been portrayed wrongly by the left leaning media.

    Sigh.

Anyone, who takes the Bible literally, and believes that the Earth is 6,000 years old. Is a certifiable retard.

Nope, they really are as stupid as they seem.

People's beliefs are their own, who are we to judge them for it.

My point though wasn't in relation to their beliefs, but the fact that a lot of the media would have you believe that they are all a bunch of Sarah Palin loving, gun tootin, republican voting son of a guns.

The documentary on C4 tonight illustrated how many of them voted for Obama, primarily because, as Christians, they identify with his call for social justice, helping the needy, and looking out for one and other. Many interviewed we're incredibly anti republican, and disheartened with the way America went after Bush was elected.

Whilst I disagree with their hardline pro-life stance, it was interesting to hear one democratic EC talk about how pro life was more than about just abortion. They talked about Katrina and how shabbily the govt. treated the lower income African Americans in New Orleans, that these sorts of crisis' were as much to do with pro life as the abortion issue was.

The minute their beliefs, become public. The minute they decide to impose their bull**** on everyone else. It's the same with any belief. The minute you publicise your belief, then expect it to be picked apart. If it's as downright bat**** insane, as the various religious beliefs held by many on this planet, then what do you expect??

Worse still, is their foray into the scientific realm. It's bad enough that they fill the heads of their children with nonsense. But the fact that they wish to install creationism on the curriculum, well that kind of crosses a line. Their absurd opposition to evolution(which by default means biology) has migrated onto stem cell research. What next i wonder?? Im sure if the Bible said, giant invisible strings are what holds us to the Earth, they'd be up disputing Newton and the theory of gravity.

People like this, should be outwardly ridiculed. The staggering level of ignorance and myopia is breathtaking. Indeed it seems necessary to hold such beleifs in the first place.

Television really isn't the place for this sort of debate, not that I would contest a hell of a lot of the pts that have been made.

I was merely wondering had anyone else seen the program, and was interested to hear their views on it.

    Sorry,

You're right, it isn't really the place.

If you liked it, you should check out Gods Next Army. Or the notorious documentary "Jesus Camp".
