you can use it on your 308 no problem but you will have to get a new bush cut for it

Is there anywhere in the south east that i can get my rifle threaded? and around how much can i expect to spend getting it done? theres alot more comfort shooting with a moderator.

John Greene. He used To be in Waterford. He has a shop in Kilmacow, Co. Kilkenny now, i think. He quoted me €140 to supply the mod and to thread the barrel of a marlin 917vs about 5 or 6 wks ago. I have a mobile no for him, if you want me to pm it to ya, let me know.

Edit: Bollox beaten to it by clivej

Thanks for all the replies lads, Whats the best moderator out at the moment? ive used the t8 on the 6.5 i had but traded the whole lot in two months ago, i should have kept the damn thing  would i be better off getting a mod i can strip down and clean myself, does it matter if the barrel is stainless can it still be threaded?

yea it can be threaded no problems. But be carefull stainless can bind up on you - keep the threads lubed up.

I'm putting in for permission to use a moderator on my .22lr and .223 tonight with the FO, just to keep it all legal don't you know. ;)

I put in on the 22lr 3 months ago and they are going down the route of a license for each mod for each rifle. I'm not sure if they know what to do about permissions for mods! I have to supply more info, like reasons for use, tonight.

The .30 stamp means its for a 30 cal which your .308 is, if you put it on another rifle make sure the delrin bush is not touching the barrel.

I'm going to get an ASE Utla NorthStar mod but it's only new out and not available in a 5/8" thread yet. But I'll get John Greene to cut a thread and put a target crown on the muzzel of my CZ varmint while I'm waiting.

Thinking of getting a few inches cut off the barrel length before the threading as well, while he has it in the workshop.

I just had a look at the Reflex mod site and from what i see the bush is cut so as to fit just on the Rifle barrel( +0.02mm ), what yee think??

Be aware that you will lose about 100 fps for every inch of barrel reduction depending on calibre.
