    Gone to a play-off:

Rory McIlory, Molinari and Lin Wen tang all finished at -15.

McDowell finished -11, Gareth Maybin finished -7 (good debut on main tour) and McGinley finished -2.

Molinari parred the first and dropped out after the other 2 birdied.

Off to the 18th again and Lin Wen tang has a birdie to McIlory has a par.

So a second play-off failure for McIlory but his time will come. Birdie-birdie on 2 play-off holes for the deserving winner.

The shot that McIlroy played on the second tie hole was one of the best that I've ever seen.

He'd hit his 3 wood form the tee into the trees on the left and his ball was at the base of a tree. He needed to put a big hook on the ball to get it onto the green and he was playing over water. He hit a superb shot to about 12 feet. However the winner put his second to 2 feet and Rory missed the putt but it was still a super shot from the trees.

McIllroy is up to 50th in the world now and is on course to play at Augusta in April. What a fantastic finish to the season he's had. He has shown great character since his first playoff defeat, putting together a string of top ten finishes. I've no doubt he'll win a tournament in the next year
