    Hi Guys

Can anyone please tell me where I can get tips direction advice criticism and help with adobe illustrator in or around city centre?
Where do i start looking local newspapers net and yellow pages havent anything relevant listed. Its mostly for fashion illustrations. HAve Adobe illustrator for 30 day trail (very exciting) Want to make most of it and brush up!!

While I am not a complete novice need more depth and detail without making the overall image too cluttered. Basicaly need to know if they are any good as they dont seem to resemble anything on the net!

Also how to save them in another format that can be read on pcs not hosting AI.

    Thanks :)

I'd guess its kinda the wrong forum in here ...

Not sure if there is any place around the city teaching...

I'd just recommend you go to http://vectortuts.com/ and find a tutorial you want to go through .

    Subscribe to the blog ...

Apart from that ... check out inkscape as a free alternative to illustrator ...

Edit: why not post over on the digital design forum for C&C

Thanks. On line tutorals are how I have been learning but dont think I have this link. So double thanks.

I am so paronoid about this sort of stuff afraid people will laugh and say its crap or else steal it and claim as thier own. My skills are at best undeveloped- ah what the hell gonna post them up!

Taking C&C on your design hurts ... but you get used to it and you get better once you realise .. you do some good things you do some bad.

When I started out I didn't post and didn't ask for advice .. and it probably set me back a bit. Now ... I ask on "private" forums if its commercial work.

Ask your friends ... get in contact with other designers you know fire them an email and ask if they wouldn't mind giving some C&C ...

Ya good piont I have considered this. Most of the people I went to collage with or not to ofea with vector. I have consulted a friend and artist I admire who gave me a failry softly softly citique. She is really sweet person but seems think anything anyone creates is applaudable.

As for posting them up on the other forum - boot to that cant seem to save them as anything but AI format- could be settings or condition of trail. Any ideas?!

I d really love to get a decent (human) tutorial and from someone estranged that will be ablt to show me a few things- cant understand why no body advertises for this - wouldn't they make a packet?!

afaik getting the adobe qualifications can be quite pricey ... hence people don't offer the service. You'll get the crappy services around the place giving courses but I've had one or two experiences with some of their instructors before and it was kinda scary that I knew a lot more than they did. :D

I'm not however good with illustrator ... theres just not enough hours in the day for me unforutnately. I can do what I need to.

Afaik ... in order to let people see what you're doing you just go

    File -> Export -> save as a jpeg ... :)

if you use your normal save as ... SVG should be viewable in most modern web browsers. Though you'll still probably have issues.

There are some great tuts up on converting a photo to vector on that tuts site. It'll take you a while and be annoying when you start it initially but once you start it gets easier.

Yep - export worked - was looking to that for ages!! Have them posted in digital art forum! So by all means if you have the time unleash some honest criticism!

    Thanks :)
