Is there something the ladies aren't sharing with us?

How come all of those ads on tv for constipation, bloatedness etc are always aimed at women?

Danone activia, senokot and loads of others.

The ads always feature some middle aged woman harping on about how she feels bloated after her din dins or her constipation is like carrying around a handbag full of food.

Surely men suffer from these problems too, but its always aimed at women.

Or is there a big cover up and women are constantly bloated with poor digestion etc? Maybe thats what gets her moody over nothing.

I would have thought the exact opposite. In fact, maybe they advertise to women because men are already using them!

Yup......that's why I don't need to pill to keep me regular.

The ads cater for those women who, when they're out and about, eat meals the size of a crumb and pretend that's all they eat. When they get home however, they stick a shovel in the fridge and ram the entire contents down their necks. They need all of the pills after that because they don't want to weigh 25 stone on their wedding day.

I was fortunate enough to marry a stick, who is still a stick, mainly due to a padlock on the fridge.

Men are manly enough just to grin and bear a small bit of discomfort, be it a little bit of heartburn or a massive ****e that wont budge.

cos loadsa women use laxatives as a weight control method, this b'ggers up their digestive system.

The answer is surely because women believe all the crap that advertisers tell them.

Bloating. Seriously, fart or have a good big ****. You dont need pills.

Constipation. Who's fault is that anyway? Manage your eating habits.

Its the face cleansing, spot cream stuff that irritates me. You do not need all those face wipes, spot creams, moisturisers, and other assorted creams that seem to burst out of drawers all around my house. Centuries ago a mysterious material was invented that even shops still sell today. Its called Soap and its cheaper!

BTW girls its okay to wear flat shoes all the time. You do not need an elongated leg, the only people who give a **** about this are other women. Long story short, you are fvcking nuts! :D

It is a bit more complicated than that.

The reason that women get dry skin is because they wear too much make-up.
If they didn't wear some much fake tan and other crap, their skin wouldn't be as bad and they wouldn't need some much of that other crap that is sold by the same companies that sell the make-up.

Save your children from this plight by not allowing them to wear make-up until they are 18 or something.

    Sssssh...here's the secret.

Women in the most part have a bit of a belly. TV makes them believe that it's down to bloating or water retention, when in fact it's down to biscuits and crisps retention.

Women get constipated cause they don't eat the marvellous full of fibre food that men eat. Salads, wine and special K won't make you ****. Guinness and barley full beer will.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,158 ✭✭✭✭Berty

They're not aimed at women only, they just use women actors to make a nicer ad. Who wants to see some smelly old guy talking about constipation, I sure don't.

In truth its down to a few medical facts about the biology of women.

First, the inner workings of a womans body, when given close scrutiny at the macro and micro level, are clearly the work the devil. This means that the sulphorous and hellish emanations from the unholy contraptions within their sinful pleasure palaces make their crap stink worse than ours, hence their desire to hold it in. However, holding in too much too often results in blocakge, hence the ads.

Its all in books, you know. I expect them to published soon.

Well thankfully those ads have now shown me what is in and why women are carrying those big handbags all the time. :)

I'm not sure why these ads are exclusively aimed at women, but given the general level of subltety in male-aimed ads, I'm glad they are. Think about it, Lynx ads basically boil down to "Wear this and she'll ride you!" Gillette ads "Shave with this and she'll ride you!" Just for men ads "Dye your hair and she'll ride you!"
I'm not sure how that approach would work in an ad about laxatives, and I don't really want to know.
