fm 2009 start up problems

    When i try to run the game "cannot run game failed to set up graphics system" appears so dont know what to do now. Is this a disc fault. Any advice welcome

    Sounds like you PC / Mac is below the minimum spec needed to run FM09.

    the relevant bit:
    ERROR: Cannot run game:Failed to set up graphics system

    Fix: Please download the following update from the Microsoft Direct X SDK: Click Here

    You should also check that you are running the latest graphics driver, you can do this by visiting the computer manufacturer website, or by visiting the graphics card manufacturing website.

    this doesn't rule out that your GPU ain't up to it btw, older cards won't be able to run the latest DX, but if it does meet them try the above.

    Hi I have FM 2009 and it runs but the best bit about the game i.e. watching it in 3d option doesnt appear, I presume its because my laptop is too slow, if you have vista it says you need 2.6ghz but i cant find a laptop with a processor of that speed. Am i missing something or what can I do

    Play the game in windowed mode and report back.
