Recently bought a dish after ending sky subscription. Can the skybox be used as a reciever?

what you buy a dish for when you already have a dish up? Do you want to use the skybox as a FTA reciever for other satellites meant for europe?

If so, then your skybox would be no good as the tuning capabilitys are very limited to say the least (Symbol rates are only 22000 & 27500, I think)

You will get all the FTA channels though on the sky satellite at 28east.
